Burnaby, B.C.

Burnaby is a city in British Columbia, located to the east of Vancouver, B.C. It is the third largest city in British Columbia by population, surpassed by Vancouver, B.C. and Surrey, B.C.

Since Burnaby is centrally located in Metro Vancouver, Burnaby is easily accessible by car. You can use the major highways and roadways such as Trans-Canada Hwy, BC-1 E, Lougheed Hwy, Barnet Hwy, West Hastings Street, East 1st Ave and Marine Drive. If you are travelling by plane, you will land at the Vancouver International Airport that is a quick 25 minutes taxi or car ride to Burnaby. Lastly, if you are coming from Vancouver Island and travelling by ferry, Burnaby is roughly about 45 minutes from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal by car. Further, from the Horseshow Bay Ferry Terminal, you are about 30 minutes away from Burnaby by car.

Burnaby is a great place to call home but also a great city to visit.  Great shopping can be found n Burnaby. First to visit is Metropolis at Metrotown – this is British Columbia’s largest mall and entertainment complex. You will find near 450 shops and services at Metrotown as well as a Silver City movie theatre. Burnaby is also popular for an Asian themed shopping center, The Crystal Mall. Further, you can also visit the Heights District, which is a favorite if you like the shopping experience of the various boutiques.  Last, Brentwood Town Center is centrally located and walking distance from the SkyTrain rapid transit line. You will find an option of 110 stores and services at Brentwood Town Center. There are new exciting plans for Brentwood. It is intended to develop Breentwood into a 1.3 million square foot mall consisting of all shops and services, which will be located indoor and outdoor.

Burnaby’s Simon Fraser University is the only Canadian university competing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
